Greenhouse Enterprise Budget Workshop Session description:
There are many factors to consider when scaling your season extension or year round production aspirations for rigid greenhouses. This session will help guide farmers and farm planning professionals through a series of budget and accounting tools that can help you make decisions that meet your greenhouse expansion goals and your budget. The budget tools are applicable across all scales but are especially useful for small family farms who are looking to maintain a labor force and market opportunities through winter months.
Participants can sign up for one-on-one sessions later in the day or for a later date.
Presenters:
- Dr. Aaron Hoshide, Sustainable Agriculture Economics Specialist
- William Giordano, Education Director of the Sustainable Year Round Agriculture Project for MESAS
All MESAS Thursday morning sessions will be in the Piscataquis/Sagadahoc rooms of the Augusta Civic Center. More info at www.mesas.org.
See the full event schedule at the Maine DACF website
Note: A previously scheduled MESAS session on agriculture sensors was merged with the Beginning Farmer Resource Network in the Howard Room.
